Who Are We?
The Hampshire Public Health Shared Services Collaborative (HPHSSC) was established in 2022 in Hampshire County, MA (and beyond) as a response to the Blueprint for Public Health Excellence which emphasized the importance of community access to essential public health services throughout the state. The HPHSSC is hosted by the Northampton Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and is funded through the state’s Public Health Excellence (PHE) Grant which is overseen by the Office of Local and Regional Health (OLRH).
OLRH provides support to established shared services collaboratives throughout the state as we pool resources between our municipalities in order to help expand the reach and capacity of foundational public health services.
The 14 HPHSSC Communities
How Can We Help?
We currently support the 14 communities in our collaborative in a variety of ways.
The Regional Inspectional team provides food and housing inspectional services. We also provide customized support based on the needs of our partners. We are currently launching a septic program in one of our communities as a result of their feedback.
The Regional Public Health Nurses offer vaccine and blood pressure clinics, infectious disease reports, educational trainings, and more. We also provide our communities with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), video conferencing tools, and NaloxBoxes.
Requests for regional services are made through our Board of Health Members.
We only go where we are invited, but our goal is to be invited wherever we are needed!
